for me. My husband's side has all of the menfolk having their birthdays in this month, 9/1, 9/9, 9/15 - my dh, 9/19 my ds - happy birthday, love, 9/22 dh's father, and I think another one or two. There is also the family reunion on my dh's father side ... always the third Saturday of the month... and so right around his birthday... and they come and stay here at our house, because the reunion is held at a little town nearby. We used to have to put anywhere from 4-10 people up, but luckily the g-parents are putting up some of them in hotels now. They still come congregate here at the house in the evenings for supper and visiting. I love it , but it just seems once school starts in late August, it is nonstop. We kind of get things under control at the end of September, but it's playing catch up.
Oh, well... trying to veg and relax enough this week so that we can put on a nice birthday for ds this weekend. Ten years old...such a big boy, time has just flown by. I remember being so worried I wouldn't know what to do with a little boy. I am from a family of three daughters, and our first child was a girl... how in the world would I handle a boy?! It's amazing how loving and sweet and funny little boys can be, how they can bring you into their world of dinosaurs and bugs and sharks... so fun and fascinating, they are the same as having a daughter and yet different. I am so glad we had you, ds, you bring a smile to my face and joy to my heart every day.
